Jacquelyn Duhon Cook’s practice focuses on business and corporate law, commercial litigation, and complex transactional matters. In addition, Jackie is expanding her practice through hands-on training and experience in successions, probate, and estate administration, as well as oil and gas matters, including title and transactional support.
Before joining Duhon Law Firm, Jackie served as Assistant General Counsel for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she advised on complex commercial contracts, commercial and real estate transactions, leases, procurement, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Prior to her in-house role, Jackie was a partner at a local litigation firm, where she represented corporate and professional clients in commercial litigation and professional liability defense. She managed all phases of litigation, including case strategy, motion practice, discovery, and resolution through trial and settlement.
Jackie began her legal career at a large New Orleans law firm, where she practiced in civil litigation.
She earned her J.D./D.C.L., cum laude, from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where she served on the Louisiana Law Review.
In 2025, Jackie was appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court as an Assistant Examiner for the Committee on Bar Admissions. She assists each year in the process of reviewing and grading examinations for applicants to the Bar of Louisiana.
Jackie is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Lafayette Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.
