Carl J. Duhon was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. He founded the Duhon Law Firm in 1992 and has spent more than three decades representing businesses and individuals in both complex litigation and transactional matters. Over the years, he has served as outside counsel to numerous well-known corporate clients throughout Louisiana and beyond, offering strategic guidance on commercial disputes, business operations, and sophisticated contractual matters.
Carl graduated cum laude from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) in 1984, earning his B.S. with a 4.0 GPA in his final 52 hours of coursework completed in a single year. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Tulane University School of Law in 1987, graduating in the top 15% of his class. During law school, he received the highest grade in Business Transactions and was awarded the Ferdinand F. Stone Scholarship for academic excellence.
Carl is admitted to the Louisiana Bar and is a member of both the Lafayette Bar Association and the Louisiana State Bar Association.
Throughout his career, Carl has contributed to the profession in a variety of ways, including serving as a Louisiana Bar Examination grader for subjects such as Contracts, Donations, Matrimonial Regimes, Sales & Leases, Partnership, Suretyship, Security Interests, Compromise & Arbitration, Prescription, and related areas.
